Course description

This course provides attendees with a deep understanding of the current challenges faced by racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, and elderly populations in their pursuit of a better health status. Speakers and attendees will engage in thorough discussions on the multiple biological, social, financial and cultural aspects that influence patients' health-oriented behaviors. Speakers will share a careful analysis of the current status of our health care system that has fallen short in providing equal health care and opportunities to all members of our society. Sessions will highlight the role, responsibility and tangible opportunities for all health care providers to engage in the fight against health care disparities. Attendees will receive practical recommendations to ultimately achieve health equity in our societies.

This is an accredited, livestreamed course offered by Harvard Medical School. This course is targeted to Primary Care Physicians, Specialty Physicians, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists and Psychologists.
