Course description

What makes a podcast stand out from the rest? How do you make one that engages listeners and becomes relevant? Podcasts are in a golden age and can effectively communicate new ideas, tell stories, and build highly participative communities. However, it takes more than a recorder, a laptop, and a microphone to create one. This course explores the process of creating a podcast, from defining its concept to producing, editing, and making sure it builds an engaged audience. We explore different successful shows and understand the elements they have in common. Students learn the basic skills for producing a podcast and have a first episode to share by the end of the course.
