Course description

This course provides the knowledge, skills, and tools for health and wellness coaches and related professionals to effectively and efficiently promote healthy lifestyle development/changes in their clients/patients. Students participate in a combination of lectures, group discussion, and experiential education to better appreciate the integral role of coaching in true healthcare reform. They also gain confidence with the practice of wellness coaching, utilizing the science, practice, and tools of lifestyle medicine as they counsel patients to improve their overall health and well-being (nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, social engagement and connection, cognitive stimulation, nature, emotion regulation, mindfulness, meditation, and stress management).
