Climate Leadership: Creating Change in Uncertain Times
- Introductory
Navigate the human dimensions of climate leadership
Build alignment across difference
Design and advance meaningful climate action
Addressing climate change requires leadership to both identify effective solutions and build the capacities needed to put them into practice. Rather than focusing on rapidly evolving questions in environmental science or climate policy, this course examines the enduring leadership challenges that shape progress across all climate-related issues. This course will teach you to work through disagreement, competing values, institutional barriers, emotional intensity, and questions of power as they relate to addressing climate change and its impacts.
Drawing on Harvard Kennedy School leadership frameworks and stories of climate practitioners across the globe, this course will help you navigate the human and adaptive dimensions of climate action. You will learn how to identify and express your call to climate leadership, navigate the complex dynamics of collective decision making, implement actions grounded in your community’s vision for the future, and create lasting change. You will leave being able to identify what’s holding back progress, collaborate across differences to identify shared solutions, and design a climate intervention grounded in your own context.
Wherever you work or lead, use this course to turn climate concern into focused, practical action.
